Summer Portraits!

So Mamaw Hurley was wanting a picture of the boys together to hang on her wall! Well guess what? We didn't have one, so I took the boys out the other day to TRY to get one. I called Mom to have her ride along with us to help, so we loaded the kids up and took off! Needless to say, taking 3 kids to get their pics done wasn't an easy task. This time Riley was posing for the camera like crazy, but Hayden totally refused! So I just ignored him, thinking that he would get jealous of me paying attention to Riley and Skyler, well guess what, still no luck! So Mom suggested that I put Riley and Skyler together and maybe that would work, well it did, but Hayden was in a hurry to get up and see the duck, so no luck there! By this time, we had made it to the park and of course they wanted to play, so I gave up and let them play. I dropped Mom and Skyler off and Riley had to stay with Nana, so me and Hayden headed home to take a much needed nap. After a 3 hour nap, Hayden comes running through the living room and tells me that he wants his picture taken, so I call Nana up and tell her to bring Riley home quickly. By the time I got Hayden's clothes on him, we met Nana at the bottom of the driveway, and FINALLY I got a really good pic of them together! So here are my favorites for the day! (WARNING- lots of photos...can't you tell I'm proud of my kiddos)

Riley insisted on his crazy face!

Happy 4th B-day Riley!

On Sunday, we celebrated Riley 4th b-day with the usual cookout and party time at home. Of course the usual brief storm came again this year, but it happened before everybody got to the house instead of like last year and came exactly when the party started! So he celebrated this year with a Thomas the Train themed party! We cooked hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, along with chips, potato salad, deviled eggs, etc., the kids took turns at the Thomas pinata, ate Thomas cake and ice cream, played and then opened presents! While the kids played their hearts out in the play yard and on the 4-wheeler, John Deere tractor and John Deer Gator, the adults got plenty of "adult time". So we all had a blast! Thanks everybody for coming out and for all his great gifts! We are so fortunate to have a wonderful circle of friends and family!

I love my boys!

Well, just a quick lil note. Both boys are really sick, Craig and I both had to take off work yesterday to take Hayden to the Dr. Well actually, we both took off a couple of hours and then Nana watched them while we both went back to finish up, thanks Nana for everything that you do for us, I don't know what we would do without you! Needless to say that I am worn out from a few nights of no sleep and LONG LONG hours at the shop! So I finally got them down for a nap and decided that I didn't need to be working on pictures since my eyes are dropping by the minute! Anyways, when I look at the pics of the boys I realize that they are my world. I can't image not having them, even after all these long night without sleep, cleaning/changing bed sheets 4 or 5 times in one night, forcing medicine down their lil mouths, letting them sleep in my bed while I sleep on the couch, and holding them while they cry their lil eyes out. I am the luckiest girl! I have a wonderful and amazing family! So I want to share this picture with you guys from the shoot I done with them the other day I just love it

So I am going to go take a nap, too! Sorry that I still haven't posted pics from Riley's b-day party or from the shoot last week, put I will get them on here soon! I Promise!!!!!

Hayden's Surgery

Well yesterday Hayden had tympanostomy tube placement (ear tubes). We arrived at Children's West at 9, he wasn't very happy with us because we woke him up and he wanted to go back to bed. So the whole way to the hospital he didn't say a word and gave me and Mom mean evil looks, but once we arrived and he seen all the toys, he changed his mind. By 9:30 we were registered and called back to the pre-op room.

So after we went over his medical history and got his vitals, it was time for his "happy juice".
He was getting Doggy ready for bed.
He was fighting the happy juice, he kept trying to sit up and then he would just fall back over.
Finally we got him to lay down....the happy juice is working now.

He felt better when I laid down with him!
My precious lil angel...
Well the surgery was over in about 15 minutes and they called us back and we talked to the dr and he explained that everything went well and what to expect the next couple of day. So back to the lobby to wait again. Then the recovery nurse came and got us, as soon as she opened the door, I heard Hayden screaming uncontrollably....which is the worse feeling that a mother could have. Finally we made it to his room and he was going crazy, which is normal but still scares me to death, so I was crying and trying to calm him down. That lasted about 25 minutes and as soon as he drank some Sprite they let us sign out and go home. Well the dr and nurses told us that he would go home and take a long nap and then he would be back to normal, well Hayden wasn't. The dr called about 6:30 to check on him and I explained that he would sleep about 15 minutes and scream for about 30, and he had been doing that since we left the hospital. Well the dr advised us that every child is different and that he was having trouble "getting" over the anesthesia, and about 10:30 he finally stopped. So he only woke up about 4 times from 11 pm till about 7:30 this morning. So far, he is acting a lil more rowdy than usually and then he will sit for about 20-30 minutes and tell me that his ears are hurting and then get up. It has been an experience to remember!
